Summer 2005 Walks > 2005 World Youth Day Walk
Summer 2005 – Walk to World Youth Day & Culture of Life Conference
Walk to World Youth Day – Cologne, Germany
When –Monday, August 8th – Sunday, August 22nd.
Where – Starting from Munich or Berlin, Germany and ending in Cologne, Germany, the host city for the 2005 World Youth Day events.
Who – College age American and European youth will be walking in solidarity across Germany to promote the Culture of Life and defend the Unborn. At the conclusion of our three walks across America, we will be traveling to Germany on August 8th to meet up with European youth to embark on Crossroads’ traditional walk to World Youth Day. This walk is open to others, so we encourage anyone interested to submit an application. We are hoping to have volunteers from across North America and Europe to apply.
What – The World Youth Day walk will begin with a Culture of Life conference (listed below) and will be followed by 5 days of walking through towns and cities in Germany. We will be meeting people at the grassroots level – speaking to churches and youth groups and thousands of people along our route. The route is around 350 miles long and teams will be walking in shifts around the clock. Individually, each person will be participating on one of these rotating shifts daily.
Why – Because of the success Crossroads
has had over the past 10 years spreading the Culture of Life to
individuals at the grassroots level, we are hoping to share our
experiences with youth from around the World.
Culture of Life Conference – Location to be announced Soon!
Crossroads is in the planning stages for a Culture of Life Conference that will take place at the beginning of our World Youth Day Walk. The conference will feature prominent speakers from the United States and Europe covering a range of issues related to Abortion and the Culture of Life in general.
The purpose of this conference is to equip American and European youth with the ability to actively participate in building a Culture of Life in their local areas as well as on a national level. Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to apply and should contact us for further information.
